Privacy policy
This policy matches the scripts hullrupture.org actually loads on 7 Nov 2026: Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, Adsterra, and a YouTube player that is created when you press play. If a script is not listed here, it should not be on the page.
The controller for this site is the operator of hullrupture.org. The contact for privacy requests, corrections and takedown notices is [email protected].

Default loading and your choice
This site loads by default. When this browser has no stored choice, the visit is treated as granted: Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, the Adsterra Native Banner and the Adsterra Social Bar start at first paint, and YouTube stays behind its play button. The banner still appears on that first visit to tell you and to offer Accept and Reject. It is a notice and withdrawal control, not a gate in front of the scripts.
Reject withdraws consent for all three and stores a denied choice for 180 days under the localStorage key hullrupture.consent. Reject reloads the document to end the active advertising and recording tasks. The Clarity and Adsterra scripts stop loading after that reload and on later pages; GA4 keeps its library request but Consent Mode sets analytics_storage to denied, so it sets no new _ga cookies; Google can still receive cookieless measurement pings. Accept stores a granted choice for the same 180 days. Cookie settings in the footer reopens the banner so the choice can be changed at any time; deleting the key has the same effect as having made no choice.
A Global Privacy Control signal or a Do Not Track signal is treated as Reject: the site stores a denied choice without waiting for a click. Reject is the withdrawal path, never a precondition for loading.
Google Analytics 4
Google Analytics 4 runs through gtag.js with Measurement ID G-XMVWLERVGH. It sets the first-party cookies _ga (two years) and _ga_ followed by the container suffix (two years). GA4 receives the page URL, referrer, device and browser information, approximate location derived from the IP address, and interaction events such as scrolls and outbound clicks. Google does not log the IP address for GA4. Event data is kept for the retention period selected in the property (two or fourteen months); aggregated reports can remain longer.
The purpose is measuring readership; the default-on setting is the operator's configuration and does not establish that a visitor has given consent. Reject or Cookie settings sets analytics_storage to denied. The gtag.js library request stays in the page, but it runs without analytics storage and sets no _ga cookies. Google's privacy policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy and the opt-out browser add-on is at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Microsoft Clarity
Microsoft Clarity project z9ri19wbcw records heatmaps and session replays. It sets the first-party cookies _clck (one year) and _clsk (one day), and may set the Microsoft cookies CLID and MUID on Microsoft domains. Clarity also keeps a session identifier in browser storage. The data includes clicks, scroll depth, mouse movement, pages viewed, device and browser details, and a masked recording of the session. Text typed into form fields is masked by default and is not part of the replay.
Ordinary playback data is retained for 30 days; heatmaps, click data and labelled or favourite sessions can be kept for nine months. The purpose is identifying usability problems. Reject calls the Clarity consent API with false and reloads the document without the tag. Microsoft's privacy statement is at https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement and Clarity's notice is at https://clarity.microsoft.com/privacy.
Adsterra advertising
Adsterra serves two placements on this site: a Native Banner (unit 32136689, NativeBanner_1) inside the page and a Social Bar (unit 32136690, SocialBar_1) pinned to the bottom of the viewport. The Adsterra publisher id is 3403020 and the website id is 6181702. Adult ads are switched off for this website. The ad scripts load from bicea.org, and a creative may request images, styles, scripts and frames from the network's own CDNs.
Adsterra and its demand partners may set cookies on bicea.org and on creative domains. The exact names are chosen by the network and can change per campaign, so this policy does not pretend to list every one; they are used to cap frequency, measure impressions and clicks, and, where you have not opted out, to personalise advertising. The purpose is funding the site through advertising. Reject or Cookie settings removes the units and stops subsequent loading.
Adsterra's privacy policy is at https://adsterra.com/privacy-policy/. You can opt out of personalised advertising from many networks at https://www.youronlinechoices.com/ and https://optout.aboutads.info/, and manage Google ads at https://adssettings.google.com/.
YouTube
Some pages show a trailer. The page first renders a still image and a play button; pressing play creates a youtube-nocookie.com iframe. The embed can set cookies such as VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE, VISITOR_PRIVACY_METADATA, YSC and PREF. The thumbnail files are copies hosted on this site, so no YouTube request is made before the play click. YouTube is a Google service and its privacy policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy. YouTube is not part of the consent choice: the player is created only by your play click, and the banner neither preloads nor blocks it.
No other third-party analytics, tag manager, chat widget, font CDN or advertising network runs on this site. Fonts, styles, scripts, images and the consent banner are served from hullrupture.org.

Legal basis, retention and your rights
The site uses analytics to measure readership, session replay to identify usability problems, and advertising to fund publication. These services load by default unless a stored rejection or GPC/DNT signal applies. Accept and Reject are stored for 180 days. This describes the implemented behavior; loading a service before a visitor chooses does not itself establish consent.
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data the site holds about you. In practice the site holds no account and no server-side profile; the useful request is about mail you have sent to [email protected], which is kept only as long as needed to answer it. You can also clear the localStorage keys and cookies in your browser, use the opt-out links above, or complain to your local data-protection authority.
This policy changes by editing this page and moving the date at the top. Material changes to the scripts will be reflected here before they ship.
FAQ
Do you operate a data broker?
The site has no user accounts and does not operate a data broker. Adsterra and its demand partners process advertising identifiers under their own policies; Reject stops their scripts.
Do analytics and ads really load before I click Accept?
Yes. A first visit with no stored choice is treated as granted, and GA4, Clarity and Adsterra start at first paint. Reject is the control that withdraws consent and remembers that for 180 days; GA4 then runs with storage denied, and Clarity and Adsterra stop loading.
What cookies does YouTube set?
Only when you press play; the player is created then, under YouTube's own policy.
How do I change my choice?
Use Cookie settings in the footer, delete hullrupture.consent in localStorage, or clear site data for hullrupture.org.
